Building on our Legacy

Metz Culinary Management, established in 1994 by founder John C. Metz (1940-2023), operates as a custom on-site management company with a strong “guest first” philosophy for various sectors, including healthcare, education, corporate dining, and airports. The company’s commitment to delivering restaurant-inspired hospitality to every guest is a testament to the legacy of Mr. Metz, who began his illustrious career in the food service management industry in 1967 with the founding of Custom Management Corporation. Under his leadership, this small regional provider evolved into an industry leader and innovator, setting the standards for competitors to follow. On May 8, 2023, Mr. Metz passed away, leaving behind a remarkable legacy in the industry he helped shape.

In keeping with our focus on guest satisfaction, Metz expanded in 2000 to include a facility services division that offers a greater variety of outsourcing solutions, including maintenance, housekeeping/custodial, laundry, and security.

Today, Metz Culinary Management is one of the top 15 dining service contract management companies*. We currently manage a diverse portfolio in the northeast, mid-Atlantic, southeast, south and the mid-west under the leadership of Mr. Metz’ son, Jeff Metz, the company’s current president and CEO.
