Ruth’s Chris Steak House to Host Four-Course Wine Dinner with Renowned Stag’s Leap Winemaker Nicki Pruss

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (July 17, 2012) – Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse will host a “Stag’s Leap Wine Dinner” with renowned winemaker Nicki Pruss on July 30 at 6:30 p.m. The event features a four-course dinner paired with appropriate wine selections from Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars.

Menu items and thoughtful wine selections served at the event includes:

Amuse: Star Fruit Ambrosia (Star fruit, grapefruit, blood oranges in a whisked honey sauce, chilled in a cordial glass)
Wine: Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 2008 Sauvignon Blanc

First Course: Lobster Medallion, Caramelized Onion and Vanilla Aioli Napoleon (Chilled)
Wine: Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 2008 ‘Karia’ Chardonnay

Second Course: Veal Prince Orloff – Veal Loin rolled with a combination of soubise (onion and rice) and duxelles (mushroom and truffle) stuffing
Wine: Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 2009 ‘The Alchemist II’ Cabernet Sauvignon

Intermezzo: Light lemon Sorbet

Third Course: 12-ounce. New York Strip
Sides: Mashed Potato, Spinach Au Gratin
Wines: Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 2006 FAY Cabernet Sauvignon and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 2007 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon

Dessert: Triple Cream Cheese and Fig Canoli with dark chocolate shavings
Wine: Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 2004 Cask 23 Cabernet Sauvignon

Pruss has been a winemaker for Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars since 2005. She is credited with revitalizing the winery’s Sauvignon Blanc program with a style that has been widely successful. Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is based out of Napa, California.

For the fourth consecutive year, Ruth’s Chris Steak House has received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. This award recognizes restaurants whose wine list offers more than 100 diverse selections appropriate to their cuisine, depth of vintages and well-chosen selection of quality producers. The award is presented by Wine Spectator Magazine.
